Rap Reviews: What drove the creation of your latest project, “Gas God”?

Lil’ Jairmy: It’s been two years since my last drop, and the streets were hungry for something new. Plus, I was itching to put out fresh vibes myself.

RR: Your rap style carries a melodic tone, what’s the emotion fueling that?

LJ: When I harmonize, it’s like you can feel the pain resonating through every note.

RR: You’ve been in the rap game since 2018, what sparked your journey?

LJ: The experiences I faced in the streets pushed me to express myself through music.

RR: Any current artists on heavy rotation in your playlist?

LJ: Definitely Purk, Baby, Est Gee, Shiesty, Big 30, Dug, and Rylo.

RR: Lil’ Baby gave you a cosign, a major figure in trap music. How did that connection come about?

LJ: My link-up with Baby felt organic, like it was meant to happen. When we vibed, it just clicked.

RR: What sets Houston apart from other cities, in your opinion?

LJ: We’re known for our affordable lean and our massive influence on rap culture.

RR: Any standout producers you’ve collaborated with?

LJ: Tough call, there are so many talented ones out there.

RR: What’s the best and worst part of performing for you?

LJ: Performing is a blast from start to finish. I enjoy every aspect of it.

RR: Your go-to drink?

LJ: Codeine with promethazine.

RR: Favorite cannabis strain?

LJ: Gushers, they even call me the Gusher God.

RR: Any dream destinations you’d like to visit?

LJ: The Dominican Republic is on my bucket list.

RR: Have you ever been starstruck meeting someone in the rap game?

LJ: Honestly, no one, but meeting Future was a real highlight. He’s been a favorite of mine for ages.

RR: If someone were to visit Houston, what’s a must-do and must-see according to you?

LJ: Definitely hit up the Turkey Leg Hut, owned by a good friend of mine. Their food is top-notch. And don’t miss the Galleria. Soon, I’ll even have my own store in the city.

RR: Any Houston natives that deserve more recognition?

LJ: Kenny Lou and Ghost were both incredibly talented artists who left us too soon. Among the living, keep an eye out for Guapo and Fastlane.
