Seattle-based singer-songwriter Jensen recently released a new song, “Wanderlust Highway”, which is both melodic and lyrical. The artist plays various kinds of music, including acoustic folk, blues rock, and Americana; however, Jung consistently infuses all his music with a distinctive touch. Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Charley Pride at the Grand Ole Opry inspired Jensen, born in eastern Washington. That’s how performing with his family and later forming bands paved the way for his professional recording career. Later, in 2000, he released an album of all punk genres from the Dutchman studio in Seattle, Washington, with the help of producer Gary Mula.

Nevertheless, on stage, Jensen gradually broadened his musical preferences, becoming acquainted with various styles of music only toward the end of the 1980s. His songwriting reflects this diversity, and the music ranges from fingerpicking folk to grunge and 90s alt-rock. After college, he formed a funk-prog band cadre and later joined Sweet Beets, the Bellingham funk band. In 2012, he produced his first solo album, ‘Unravel the Wire’, and performed it at the Columbia City Theater. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jensen continued to write and record new material during the night in a basement. In 2022, this material became his second solo album, “Moon Time”. Special guests on the record include Matthew O’Toole on mandolin and one of Jensen’s children, Coralie Jensen.

Jason Luke Rain Oriente composed “Wanderlust Highway” at home and produced the single. Everyone sings, with Jensen on guitar and keys, Alex Capron on saxophone, and Rain on drums and bass. The song evokes strong blues feelings; the riffs are soulful, the warm organ adds intrigue to the theme, and Jensen spontaneously developed a loud keyboard. Jensen aspires for “Wanderlust Highway” to be on the playlist for every summer road trip, evaluating and nurturing the listeners’ wandering spirit. The song’s melody and lyrics will captivate fans’ hearts.
